Primarily a screenwriter, my most notable work is The Cabin, a short film I wrote, directed, and produced which won Best Writing at the Independent Horror Movie Awards and was the audience favorite at the Toronto International Spring of Horror & Fantasy Film Festival as well as a number of other awards and nominations. It was also positively reviewed by critics such as Film Threat and The Independent Critic. Other credits include a play produced at the Toronto Fringe Festival, television pilot work, extensive documentary story work, and ongoing scripting of short animated pieces.

Well versed in writing commercial copy, including branding, outreach, social media, and web copy; I also provide notes and editing services to the work of other writers, and take on editorial and journalistic work.

Process

I am comfortable working however the client prefers; whether hourly, daily, or a flat rate. I prefer to take in all the information and research I can off the top and provide a first draft based on that before getting into refinement of the material based on notes given. Once I start writing I like to move quickly and have pages to deliver rather than a series of questions throughout the writing process. In my experience a writer should write, not inquire. I am also willing to collaborate as part of a team and have experience doing so. I'm also available for ghostwriting, with credit and attribution discussed per project.

About

A Toronto-based writer, and a graduate of Media Fundamentals at Sheridan College and Drama at Queen's University, I have a background in playwriting as well as screenwriting. I prefer to work behind the scenes to help bring the stories of others to the page rather than put myself into the spotlight. I am proud of the body of work I have helped build, with recognition being secondary to the work itself. My genuine interest in human history comes through in my writing and helps me to craft scripts that provide depth and meaning.
